About 1DGR

Hiring is broken. We’ve lived it.
We’re fixing it.

1DGR was born from firsthand experience with a broken hiring system and the belief that one small shift can change everything.

Our Story

A decade of watching the same problem repeat.

After more than a decade in recruiting and hiring, our founder saw the same challenges repeat: an overwhelming volume of resumes, inefficient screening, high costs, and ultimately, low-quality matches.

Time was wasted.  Resources drained.  The human element was lost.

“One degree can change everything.”  A small shift in direction can alter the entire trajectory.

Growing up, Frances’ father would often say those words.  Nowhere is that more true than in careers and hiring.  1DGR was created to be that shift, replacing outdated processes with real connection from the start.

Teamwork

Frances founded 1DGR after spending more than a decade across hiring and recruitment in accounting, back-office, HR, and operations.

She believes great hiring isn’t just about qualifications. It’s about connecting people to work where passion, purpose, and profession align.

“Replace outdated processes with real human connection so companies and candidates can align on purpose, not just paper.”

An SMU alum, Frances is partnering with her alma mater to bring this vision to market.

Through a one degree chance connection, Frances was connected with a bright SMU student, Jennifer Galindo, who made the introduction to Dr. Klyne Smith, Computer Science Professor and Program Director at the Lyle School of Engineering. Over lunch, Dr. Smith quickly helped assembled of team of students and experts to build out 1DGR as it stands today. There is a lot to come ahead and students being a part of the growth will continue to stay essential.
